Organized in conjunction with GBA Economic and Trade Association and See Change Education, we completed the first launch event for our SIE Fund Project, which will see us partnering with over 50 primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong throughout the next 2 years. The launch event saw over 60 important guests from the education and technology industries attending, listening to keynote speakers: Dr. David Chung, first Under-Secretary for Innovation & Technology; Dr. Lee Ju Seong, Assistant Professor and Dr. Kevin Yung, Associate Professor from The Education University of Hong Kong. Key messages from our keynote speakers:
1. Under Government’s latest Policy Address, AI will make further contribution towards the future of education. It is everyone’s role to facilitate its adoption;
2. Research shows that informal learning of English supported by AI increases students’ confidence and effectiveness for using it as a second language in everyday life;
3. Additional research highlights the importance for supporting students from lower-income families in second language acquisition as they suffer from a lack of motivation and learning resources; private tutoring plays a pivotal role.
Designed with these insights in-mind, our SIE Fund Project, featuring Moodie.ai will work towards helping to improve the communication effectiveness of over 1,250 primary and secondary students. Please get in touch with us to find out how you may support this innovative EdTech program.
Special thanks to CityU HK Tech 300 for sponsoring the venue for this important event and Oxfam Grant4Good for incubating our project.
