Moodie.ai was shortlisted as the finalist in The Big Spark!
In February 2024, Moodie.ai was featured in a high-profile investment pitch competition reality show – ‘The Big Spark’, produced by Channel News Asia (The Big Spark: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/the-big-spark/season1). Edwin Song, Managing Director of Singapore, represented Moodie.ai and was shortlisted as one of the 15 South-East Asian startup finalists!
Edwin’s story in The Big Spark pitch was about moving out of one’s comfort zone and to promote Edtech solutions with a purpose, that is to help others like him transform their communication performance and to be the best they can. In a span across two weeks, there was some intensive round-the-clock filming, both indoor and outdoor. The heavy make-up, hours of standing by and ever ready fresh looks had turned Edwin into a ‘part-time celebrity’ in South East Asia.
Through The Big Spark’s media exposure, Datality Lab was once again endorsed as a promising Edtech solutions provider harnessing artificial intelligence for enhancing communication effectiveness in the 21st Century!

The Big Spark is a powerful capital raising platform for South East Asia. A brand new, business reality TV show that empowers entrepreneurs with mentorship, a strong network and the opportunity to receive $1M of equity investment.
The show gathered aspiring founders and entrepreneurs from diverse sectors and industries such as FinTech, ESG, educational technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Software as a Service (SaaS) and health and wellness, hailing from countries across Southeast Asia. A total of 24 start-up teams have been shortlisted to participate in the show, having met qualifying criteria following a call for applications in October.
Over eight episodes, the start-ups pitched and tested their best business ideas, through a series of challenges and masterclasses, to some of the region’s most prominent venture capitalists for a shot at over S$1 million in seed funding. They did so under the mentorship of resident judges.
Season 1 was filmed alongside the Singapore FinTech Festival and aired on Channel News Asia in Feb 2024.
